Just returned from the best destination in the world ( we think it is) Stayed at Patong Beach Hotel again, just fantastic as always.Food was excellent everywhere we ate.
Met some more thai friends to add to our email list, it's like belonging to a big extended family! We hired a jeep for two days and did our usual thing of finding our own places to visit. As we "took over" a bar for 3 nights in a row we never made it on the sea canoe trip but will have to do it next time. Found the best place for cheap fresh seafood was a little place on the beach at Rawai, where you choose your food and they cook it. One of the locals took us there with his thai wife and all our thai friends, 8 of us ate copious amounts of food and drank carlsbergs & coke for a little under 100 baht each couple. We ate under a thatched roof, 10 feet away from the water, with the rain pouring down around us, absolutely magic. On the last night we bought fireworks from the supermarket and set them off at the beach. We can't wait till we can go again.
