Phuket is safe. Loads of tourist walking around Patong till very late at night, so don't worry. But use common sense. Don't get falling down drunk and decide to take a short cut home through some dark alley at 3AM. Actually, though, no one has ever bothered me when I've done that.
Tuktuk's are cheap and can be found literally everywhere on Patong. Negotiate price before you get in.
If you book Fantasy through your hotel, they will probably have a van to pick everyone up and bring you back after the show.

Patong was really safe at night. There are lots of people walking around till very late hours. We walked the streets with out kids aged 9 and 5,had a great time, we staued at holiday INN very nice indeed. Dont think you can get a tuk tuk to fantasea.... they will pick you up in a van from your hotel.

We felt very safe in Phuket (Patong Beach) had our 3 kids (8-14) and were often out until midnight walking around.

Yes you can catch a Tuk Tuk or taxi to Fantasea (some of the tickets include transfer) but we found it way cheaper to use a taxi (ours cost 300 return)
