I thought it would be a good idea if everyone voted for their top 5 resturants in patong, so that we could work out who is the tourists best resturants in patong! Also because people are always asking about resturants on this forum, we could refer them to the top 5 in the future.

Top for what.. top price, top service, top value for money ... ?? I've tried the best = most expensive (won,t mention any names) and I thought not very good value for money. Where do I eat in Patong... Sweets, cheap and cheerful, service variable. In Karon ... Karon Cafe, food always good and service Ok. In Kata ... Bluefin, good value for money.

Thanks Alex, just your overall best resturants. This includes taking food, service, price, and everything into account. Only looking at patong resturants. Surely you have your favourite resturant(s).

I really like Number 6.

Um let me see.

We liked On the Rocks (overlooking Kata Beach), wonderful location, food OK.

We also liked the meal we had in the Thavorn Palm Beach on Karon Beach.

ALso, Nicos was good. Wonderful steak.

Hubby not too impressed by Thai food so we tended to eat mainly in Italian where we could get a decent steak. We never tried Sweets, Sabai Sabai.

was in patong last august 04 and ate alot at 3 spices, great food, good price and lovely decor!! Does 3 spices still exist after the tsanami as I will be in patong on sat 16/7/05 again xxx

Havent seen the islander mentioned yet, so I will chuck this one into the mix, great food and price, and cold draught beer. Molly Malones was always great for a good meal too, but as I believe may not be opening in the near future if at all.Cheers Ronnie.

I didnt eat at enough places to vote for a top 5...from my limited knowledge here are my top 2!!

1. S&G
2. Sabai Sabai

Food all over Patong is great. You will not have enough time for all the places recommended. Here are some of my choices.

1. Holiday Inn Pizzeria
2. Sweets ( good food – bad service) maybe you can do a take away as you will not enjoy the food with such bad hostesses. They never smile. Portions are small. Food is good.
3. Sabai Sabai. Small place but very cheerful waitresses. Good food
4. Patong Seafood – Good food. Fresh. Thai style. Cheaper than Savoey.
5. Savoey sea food – If you order live fresh fish make sure you tell them the way you want it. The first time we went there it didn’t turn out to be good as we did not specify what we wanted. They cook Chinese, Continental and Thai. Presentation is good.
6. For Indian – Ali Baba is good so is Navrang. On the beach road itself. Tantawan – don’t know- didn’t try although we stayed at Thara Patong did not try it as there was nobody in the restaurant.

9. Many restaurants on beach side stalls which are fantastic and cheap. Restaurant no. 48. Good food
10. Patong bakery restaurant

Lots of restaurants outside Patong which are excellent also

No.6 Restaurant
Baan Rim Pa (For the sunset)
Pizza Restaurant previously at Holiday Inn
Royal Kitchen at Royal Paradise (Nice night view from the top)

Swedish guys & is a top feed. Regards Maureen

1. Number 6 - A must for "real" Thai food.
2. Food stalls - My Thai friends know the best ones around.
3. Bann Rim Pa - For a "classy" meal , also piano bar.
4. Navrang Mahal - Great Indian and vegetarian food.
5. Scruffy Murphy's - Beef and Guiness Pot Pie.

Best Food in Patong - any home cooked Thai food, eat at any Thais house and you'll know how good food and great company can really make a meal.

1. La Gritta (at Amari Coral Beach Hotel). Not just superb food but the most wonderful, romantic view right across the bay at Patong.
2. Harry's Steakhouse - especially the MEGA-sized burgers

The top 5 resturants in Patong are:

The top 2 were very very close. Other resturants that just missed out were Harry's Steakhouse, Patong Seafood and Savoey.

Thanks to everyone who voted, as I received lots of responses. Now when anyone asks about what are the best resturants in Patong Beach, we can refer them to the official top 5 as voted by tourists.

Hi Stewie, maybey I can help. Sabai Sabai & S&G are on the Soi next to Macdonalds on beach rd. I think it is Soi Post office but I'm sure I will be corrected If I'm wrong.
They are about 60 meters in and directly opposite each other. As for No6 not sure....Ronnie.

Just qarrived back yesterday S&G was closed every time I went there looks like maybe for good. Holiday Inn PIZZERIA was lost in the wave but they sell some pizza from main resturant no6 Sweets & Sabai Sabai going strong and great as was patong seafood and Savoey.The staff at sweets were a bit off tap so I gave them a present and they soon cheered up Thanks for the help with choosing where to eat they were all great places.
