We have just returned from 5 days in KL, staying at the Park Royal, right in the heart of all the shopping centres.
The park royal is in an excellent location, and good value for money. The breakfast is great, wonderful selection of food. We certainly enjoyed the shopping,at all the PLaza's, and really could have shopped alot more had there been room in the suitcase. We enjoyed seeing the twin Tower's quite spectacular. You must get down early in the morning to get Your tickets, you can choose what time You would like to go to view. A trip to the night market, where You'll see the biggest selection of watches and handbags. Quite a few things were certainly cheaper than Phuket. There are plenty of food and drink outlets down here, so It is quite a good idea to go early before it gets over-crowded, as it can be hard work getting down the narrow aisles of the shops. Taxis are cheap to get around in, so as long as it is not peak time its probably one of easiest ways to get around, if the old legs are tired.
We had a great night dancing at the Shangrila Hotel, there are 2 good singers and well worth a visit to enjoy a nice cocktail.
KL is certainly worth a stop-over en-route to Phuket, the shopping and food ae excellent, and the choice unlimited.
