Family vacation for first time in Krabi with 3 year old daughter in late March. Would like to stay at a beach front hotel with easy access to restaurants and shops outside of hotel. Also, as our departing flight leaves Krabi at 8 in the morning, I rather not stay on Koh Lanta or Phi Phi. My concern is time taken to travel to the airport from the islands. Any opinion on this?

My recommendation would be the Aonang villa resort. It is beach front and is close to restaurants and family friendly. It’s a lovely place to stay and excellent location.

Did u ever try Best Western Ao Nang Resort and Spa?
Where is really located in Ao Nang Beach or Hat Noppharat beach.

I found it on the map but the one you mentioned is the BEst Western Ao Nang Resort different from the one I meant as it's name is Best Western Ao Nang Resort and Spa.The last looks better in terms of amenities.(swimming pool and fitness centre)

Have booked 3 nights in March at Krabi Sands Resort. I am looking forward to spending a relaxing time in Krabi and exploring this beautiful spot in Southern Thailand.

Would love to hear what you think about Krabi. We have 10 nights their in July. We stopped at Ao nong on our way to Koh Lanta last year and thought the place was just lovely. At this stage we plan to stay at the Vogue Pranang, but we are also interested in the Andaman Holiday Resort and might split our time this place is directly on the beach but a 15 min drive from Ao nong. Have a great three days and make sure you let us know what it was like.

Hi there Tina, I will certainly write when I return from Krabi. Honestly, I am basically going to laze around and just chill. One thing for sure, I am eagerly looking forward to the awesome Thai food. Meng

Tina, I passed by Vogue Pranang and it looked nice. Convenient too as there were many shops and restaurants just at its doorsteps and across the road. And it is about 15-20 minutes walk to Ao Nang strip. So, if you want to be close to the buzz, Vogue Pranang is the better choice. On the other hand, if you like seclusion and quiet, then Andaman in Klong Muang.
