We are tossing up between Club Andaman and Patong Merlin. Can anyone help me decide and for what reason's?
Also if a bungalow at Club Andaman is a good option?
Thanks if anyone can assist.

Patong merlin is a must. The service, pools, rooms and location is fantastic. A lot of forum ussers go to the patong merlin, and I have found that a lot of people that go there keep going back there. This certainly happens with other hotels, but I feel it happens more with the patong merlin. Then again, i may be bias, as i am one of the patong merlin faithful myself.

Love the merlin.

Cheers,
Flippa.

Hi, We have stayed at both hotels before, my choice would definately be Club Andaman in the Andaman cottages(Bungalows). Both hotels are good re facilities, staff, food etc but Club Andaman has beautiful grounds with lots of space and bigger rooms.

Thanks for the replies, I guess we can't go wrong at either hotel.

Hi Family of five, I see your a fellow kiwi too. We are going to Phuket in August, staying at Andaman Beach Suites but able to use all of the facilities at The Beach Suites as well as Club Andamon complementary. Could you tell me more about Club Andaman. Is there a pool bar? what are the restaurants like? do they cater very well for young under 5yrs kids. Have you used the kids club b4? Overall the Beach Suites suited our room configuaration requirements and budget better! Thanks so much Karen (Napier)

Hi Stella Artois,
We just came back yesterday after staying at the Andaman Beach Suites for ten days, the staff are very friendly and have the personal touch , the breakfast was great , the rooms were kept very clean and the pool area was not very busy, most times had it to ourselves.
We used to walk through the grounds of the Club Andaman everyday to go down to the beach road .
Cheers,
Stewie.

Hi, sorry, have just spotted your post.
Club Andaman has everything a family needs for kids of all ages.

Two enormous pools, massage and bars beside them (don't remember a swim up bar tho)

A good kids club with attentive staff and lots of activities, our kids last visit did'nt need the kids club tho'(youngest then 7 yrs)
Heaps to do there, recommend the bungalows for families (adjoining ones, heaps of room)
Club andamnan restaurants really good (had breakfast there each day, massive breakfast banquet tables ... brekkie included in price) but there are so many great restaurants in Patong, we went out for all other meals (average evening meal for 5, including drinks, seafood, dessert cost approx NZD $20 - $25, unfortunately our favourite restaurant on the beach got destroyed by the tsunami. (Good to see they've got Tsunami warning towers now)
