We're a family (3 adults + 2 teenagers) going to Patong beach for one week in july. don't really like take tuk tuk or taxis.
These two hotels seem to be lovely (one bigger I think) and the spot very convenient for shopping, restaurant.
Does anybody go these hotels ? Any advise will be appreciate. Thanks a lot.

I stayed in the Thara Patong two years ago. It's a nice resort, fantastic location and has good rooms. A few little things irritated me; phone calls at all hours - from desk to wrong room number, a flooding shower, and, on first day, no water for a few hours. The pools looked good. Bargain for a good rate, you should get discount off peak season.

My hubby & I stayed at Club Andaman in July last year and loved it. It was far enough away from the hustle & bustle of Patong Beach but close enough that it was a comfortable 5min walk in. The grounds were being done up while we were there so they should be fantastic now. We stayed in the Lotus Village bungalows and couldn't complain. There are also some great restaurants along the road behind the resort, you can get to it via the back entrance. Number 6 was a particular favourite of mine.

We are heading back in just over 3wks with 2 other couples & have decided to give the Merlin Beach Resort a try.
