Danni, We had someone on our trip who had a really bad knee, she had difficulty walking and it swelled up size of a football, she came along on the John Gary trip thinking she wouldnt be able to get in the canoes but it worked out ok, she managed and had a great time.

The crew with John Grey are absolutly fabulous and you can feel safe with them in getting you in and out of the boats. On our trip we had a lady in her mid 80's who did everything apart from the self paddling. When we were getting off the main boat into the longboat in the semidarkness, the guys put this lady into the longboat and out again with aplumb and decoram. They were fabulous.

Thanks heaps for that I will follow your advise. We get there Oct 25th to Nov 3 so if anyone is there during this time we would love to catch up and have a drink or two. Cheers:)

Wow it sounds as though you had a wonderful time... My friend and i head out for Phuket on the 22nd of Sep and we were thinking of doing the Hong by starlight trip. Do you know what it roughly cost you per person to do this??

Also where did you find to be the best place for shopping both quality wise and price??

Kezza, we paid 3250Baht for the John Gray starlight tour, there is an early bird price if you book and pay via his website for under 3000.

The trip costs about $120 australian (somebody please correct me if Im wrong, but Im sure it was around 3000baht each.

For me personally I found Patong OTop markets to be better both price and quality wise.
Id like to hear from other people too so I know where to go for next time.

I just did this myself for my stay in Jan 07 I contacted Richard via e-mail with the dates I would be there to richard@phuket-scuba-diving.com He got back to me giving me 2 dates I then contacted him again and booked with him. Richard then replied telling me the time he would pick us up at our resort. It was all really easy so I hope this helps
