Phuket to Krabi by road is approx 2.5 hours, couldn't advise on the train journey. We have booked a driver for 2500baht to take us.

It's 890 Kilometers from Bangkok to Phuket. It's no rail. The cost by road is start from 300 baht to 755 baht, you can contact to Phuket Bus Terminal(Tel. +66-7621-1977), you also can see more Time Table & details on http://phuket.sawadee.com/transfer.htm. If you can add more budget for Low Cost Airline, it's around 1700 baht.

Anyone been to Trang. I'm going for four days in February. I know I have to get from Trang town to coast Pak meng as there is a pier there and I'd like to know if there are places nearby pier like guesthouse or small hotel

can you get to krabi by boat from phuket?

yes you can,but its a lot quicker to drive,i drive from Phuket Thur Krabi quit often,its a 3 hour drive,

good info long way by boat not good for me i would lose my lunch.

You can go by boat Phucket/Krabi or Krabi/Phucket. Takes 2 hours

Forgot to add there is a daily boat leaving Phuket ferry terminal (the one which also takes you to phi phi). between 8 and 8.30. Arrives Krabi (Ao Nang beach) two hours later. Then Krabi/Phuket leaves at 15.00 if need to return to Phuket.
