My daughter, aged 25 and her boyfriend have asked me where they should stay in Krabi for a 5 day holiday. They are staying with us for a while beforehand in Hua Hin.

They are able to spend about $aud 100-150 per night for accommodation and are looking for something nice, preferably close to a beach and where there is a bit of action at night- with some restaurants etc, so something not too sleepy...

Krabi is not my area of expertise so I would be grateful for any suggestions I could pass on for her to look at. They will be there in early October.

The Golden Beach resort and Tubkaak seem to have good reviews.

i have just returned from Krabi and before going there i had written the same question and got no worthwhile answer, so im going to do my best to help you.

Firstly, usd 150 is a very huge budget. This is off season and you will get fantastic hotels at great locations much under 100 USD. ( 3100 BAHTS ) October maybe higher season so you can add 25 %.

Most IMPORTANTLY, you must stay in Ao Nang area, Railey is sleepy, Krabi town is far way. Ao Nang is where everyone goes,but its never to jam packed.

1 - Ao Nang Villa ( stayed there 2 nights ) , at one beach end, best location because its ON the beach, huge pool, very touristy, will come at 3000 bahts a superior room.

2 - On either sie of Ao Nang Villa are Phrang Na Inn at 2250 bahts and your Golden Beach - ( more expensive, fantasic location, best for you ? ), i think Phra Nang was great, but if you have such a huge budget, you might want to spend on something better.

3 - Centre of Beach Road is Aonang Princevill, did not stay there, but its bang in middle of beach road near all the restaurants and pubs and around 3500 bahts. Krabi heritage is on the other end of Beach Road.

4 Going away from the beach road, i got a super deal at Queens bay Pavillion. Quote 6000 - 8000 on the net, i got rooms at 2300 bahts. Because its 10 minutes walking distance ( from the beach, not the restaurants ). All the luxeries you may want. But the kids wante me to shift to Aonang Villa.

If you want, Check out Hotels in Ao Nang from the accomodation listings. Remember MOO 2 is beach road, Moo 3 is 10 min from beach. My frien was smareter, he stayed at Andaman sunset, exactly in the middle, equidistant from everything, good restaurant called Wannas place, nice place at 1000 bahts.

No 2 - DO THE 4 ISLAND trip by longtail boat ( fantastic scenery ) and Phi Phi by speed boat.

Golden Beach Resort is in the perfect location and for that price they could stay in a Pavilion Suite, they are lovely. We had a splurge and stayed there for a few nights last year and I took lots of photos of the suite and general area, here is the link.

In Ao Nang, Before You pay for anything, you should check the price for it.
Because Sometime the price is too high for tourists.

Just for info, Railay Bay Resort and Spa was the final choice for the 5 day holiday and the report back was that it was excellent and at 2000 baht per night more than met their expectations.
