Hi Stewie,
Glad to hear from you. I have lamented the fact that no one was aboe to respond to your post about the Amandari Krabi. Well, guess what - that is where I stayed and rest assured you will be pleased with your choice. Excellent rooms and ambience at this small boutique hotel. Very good location - but it took us a little time to work out it was well within comfortable walking distance to the main drag and even more days to realize that we could pay a mere 40 THB for a one way trip (much easier than walking!)on a local tuk tuk - these are motorcycles with a covered sidecar arrangement. Pleasant drivers who all charge the standard 40 THB. If you're too hot to walk or had a more than one cocktail they were great. We found an excellent establishment underneath the Best Western Resort for massages. Extremely clean and very pleasant staff. Back to the Amandari - loved the pool access room and the pool. However, staff are not big on initiative or English and my big breakfast eating friend was not happy with the buffet breakfast. Limited choices, no on the spot omelettes for example or choice of breakfast cereals. Pancakes and french toast but no maple syrup. I mention these as just simple facts and don't want to be perceived as a whinger because frankly, when you are paying the low rate we paid then it was an absolute bargain Mulitude of great restaurants in Aonang and make sure you walk around the corner at the end of the main beach drag because we only discovered it at the end of our holiday - duh!!! Long street with some great shopping and fabulous eating. We ate a at an outstanding restaurant whose name escapes me at the moment but it was very upmarket in terms of service, food presentation and it had a resident keyboard/singer who sang my kind of music!
Anything else you want to now please post and I will respond.
Lastly, if you are travelling Air Asia as we did we found them excellent.
