What is the cheapest way of travelling by taxi between the LCCT and KL? How do we go about catching a taxi? Do we pre-purchase a taxi voucher at a taxi counter or aproach a driver and bargain? Is a limo or mini bus a cheaper option? We are 2 adults and 1 child with 3 bags.

We are making several trips to/from LCCT. We are staying at both the Duta Vista Exec Suites (Persiaran Ledang, Off Jalan Duta) and Federal Hotel (Bukit Bintang) at different times. (We are going to Penange for a few days in between). We have to be at the LCCT an hour before the flights according to my tickets.

How long should we allow for the taxi ride and approx how much should it cost us to get to/from LCCT? We are travelling mid morning 1st time then evening the 2nd time.

Hi Lxmum,
have recently returned from KL and took advice from this froum re taxis which worked well. After you exit immigration and collect your luggage you pass the customs officials. In front of you here, before you actually exit the arrivals hall there are booths with signs indicating TAXIS or VANS - buy coupons. This is where you purchase a coupon for a taxi. Ask for the budget taxis. If you tell them you have small bags this will be the cheapest option. They may try to talk you into a Premium taxi but avoid this because it is unnecessary and much more expensive. Take you coupon out into the open air arrivals hall whre you will see all the drivers offering transport etc. Proceed to the taxi ranks give you coupon and viola you have a taxi. Price should be between 60-70 MYR. Be aware they drive extremely fast and it is a long trek (around 1 hour) to the city centre.
