Hi, I am flying Malaysia Airlines to the UK for the 1st time arriving at 6.40am, departing again at 10.45am. Would one have sufficient time to leave the airport and head into the city to see the towers? Being a single 40 female, is safety an issue? Is there anywhere else I could visit in this short time. I don't really want to shop (yes a female saying no to shopping!!) and I don't want to sleep (that's what the 13+hrs to london is for!).

Also who has flown Malaysia Airlines? How do they compare to Singapore and Qantas?

Thanks

I don't think so. The Petronas Towers if that is what you are refering to opens at 8.30am. You have to go early to queue for the free tickets.

You depart at 10.45am, even if you take the train, you wont have enough time to check in.

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but do I have to check back in when my luggage will be checked from Perth all the way through to LHR. Some airlines give you both boarding passes when you check in. Others send you to the transit desk. If I don't have to check in, all I need to do is allow sufficient time for passport control, walking to the gate and boarding.

I really don't want to hang around the airport for 4hrs if I can help it. Are there any alternative places I could visit in this time frame?

Thanks

Sorry i am not sure. You will check with the airline.

Nothing opens so early in Kuala Lumpur. If you do leave the terminal it takes 35 minutes (1hours both ways) by train to KL Centre. You might not be able to go up the towers, but you can go to the Petronas Twin Towers park area and have a look and take some pictures.

Hi, given that 4 hours is so little time why don't you book a room at the Tune Hotel across the street from the KLIA airport (Air Asia's budget airport). r
Rooms are dirt cheap and you could shower, rest and watch TV. Not exciting I know but an opportunity to take it easy. Otherwise you are literally flying into the city centre and out again with very little to gain.
