Hi Everybody,

My wife & I are off on our 3rd trip to Thailand & were wondering what other tours etc there is to do arround Phuket. We have done most of the major tours during our last trips & were looking for some new things to do. We haven't been to the Muay Thai boxing, so will be heading to that. I believe that there may be 2 boxing stadiums in Patong. Does anybody have any thoughts on which is better.

Other ideas we had seen including snorkling, but wuld need to be close by as my wife gets sea sick. Does anybody know of any waterfalls we could visit or any other attraction they consider worthwhile.

Many thanks.

Hi Maxcat welcome to the forum.

Check out CathyP's website for heaps of ideas

http://cathyandgarystravelpages.com/phuket.htm

I would highly recommend I did a day trip last a day trip with Phuket Sail Tour, you will find a a review and link to them on Cathys site.

Last year we did a day trip with a private driver, Daj, who is also listed on Cathy's site. This was a greatday out, you are in control of what, where and how long you spend at places cause its your day trip. It cost us about $100Aus for the day (its a mini bus so up to eight people can go for that price). The only other cost are the activities you choose to do, eg elephant riding. It was fab, Daj has some options set out but you can add or change what you want. The trip we did was from Patong south down the coast to the lookouts and beaches, this can include elephants at Kok Chang. From here we choose to go to an orchid farm (my friend is orchid mad!!) or you could go to the aquarium etc. We then went to Wat Chalong, then off to a waterfall and Gibbon rehabilition centre.

Cheers

Michelle

Coral Island is close to Phuket(15 mins) for snorkelling and other water activities. I will send you a brochure.

There are many waterfalls, but because I went in High Season (low rainfall)to them, they seemed a bit tame.

Friends went to Zoo, and had a great time at the shows there. Lots of geat photos they showed me.

As for Muay Thai, there are 2 main stadiums in Patong, the new one, on "Broken Middle Road", and one near the old ten pin bowling alley. The new one looks the real deal. VIP seats are 2000Bt, but you can find discounted.

I also suggest hiring a car and exploring....maybe an overnight trip to Ao Nang.....spectacular scenery.
