Hello to everyone! Is it neccessary to get visa if i would like to buy a flat in Patong? I wish to live there and work.
And one more question-if i find a job there in a hotel what kind of document i need to show in council house for getting visa?

That question would require a very complex answer.

I'll be very brief and just say that you don't need any sort of visa to buy a flat, but be aware that you can only 'buy' a flat in a registered condo under a 99 year lease. There are other co-ownership option by being a director in a company that owns the building. You should seek legal advise if you plan to buy a property in Thailand. It's not so easy for a foreigner.

If you plan to work in Thailand then you will need a work permit, yet another challenge in Thailand. Unless you have your own Thai registered company then you should seek a suitable employer who will supply the work permit and also deal with the visa requirements.

Seems to me that you need to do a lot more research if you plan to buy a flat and work in Thailand... !!!!

has ALEX said can be complicated,easy to buy a condo good start move on to bank account driving, license,work permit,all these things are do able just takes time and money,,try to make an appointment with your local embassy they can give you all the information and documents you require,
