Hi guys booked to travel to phuket on the 26th of March till the 6th of April. Will be staying in mostly patong except for around 29th and 30th when we travel for the full moon party. Have booked our first 3 nights at Deevana resort and was just wondering if this was a good choice for a young couple (20&19)?

We are yet to book for the remainding 6 nights in patong and was wondering is it cheaper or easier to book hotels once we are over there? Was mayb thinking book three and leave the last three? Kinda want a bit nicer hotel for then as its in the low season. Mayb something like Novetel at the north of patong? Would you recommend mayb getting a bit out of patong around kata or Karon Beach?

THanks, Benny

The Deevana is an Ok hotel, offers good value for money. I've heard various reports over the years about smelly toilets, no idea if they have fixed that problem. I don't like the hotel's location on the second road back from the beach, and a little bit of a walk from the night life.

For a better quality hotel you should get a much better deal booking over the internet in advance. Walk-in rates can be surprisingly high in the quality hotels.

I would guess that a younger couple would prefer to stay in Patong as much more to do at night. Without a doubt the beach is much better in Kata, compared to Patong.

should not be a problem to find a hotel this time of year in Patong,,only take what you think is essential to the beach party IE,money for for food and drink and a fare home, don't take any valuables there easy lost or stolen,(friendly advice) don't be temped to buy any funny substance's,
what full moon party are you heading to,

Yeah we were only planning on taking the basics like money and mayb a camera. How much money per person do you think would be sufficient for the party?
Were heading to Ko Phangan for the full moon party. And as for the funny substances i dont think its worth the risk anyway. Thanks for the replys.
