Hi Jamie

Obviously no one can say with certainty what might happen, but as far as your personal safety is concerned I personally don’t think you need not worry too much in that respect with regards to the political situation. My concern would be more along the lines of flight disruptions, disruptions to your holiday plans etc if things became more agitated. Try not to worry too much about it, hopefully you won’t be affected and will have a great time.

Cheers,

Hi Jamie

I am with the others, dont worry. I think I have only been to Phuket once when there was not some sort of political unrest. I usually effects Bangkok airport more than Phuket, they blocked Phuket airport 2 years ago and it cost the local stores so much in lost tourism I dont think it will happen again.

The aspect of political unrest and safety for foreigners in Thailand has never been a deal. No foreigners have ever been in any kind of danger. The only thing to be advised is to avoid any areas of protest - just the kind of thing you would do in your own country. Use your common sense and you won't have any problems whatsoever. Happy Thailand Travels!

I am sure you will get an opinion from those that are there right now. But I am sure they will still say as long as you stay away from the trouble spots in Bangkok you will be fine. I assume you travel through there in transit. You will be fine once in Phuket.
