I will be in Phuket in about a week and a half and was wondering what the dive conditions / visibility and weather are like right now? I plan to do some day trips (Shark Point, Anoemonee Reef,Koh Doc Mai, Ratcha Islands, etc). Did anyone do a dive this week? What was it like?

Weather is excellent at the moment.

Diving conditions are good, but the last days visibility at King Cruiser and Koh Doc Mai has been limited, at all other sites reasonably good till good.

What beach?

Hi What is the current condition in the area. I will visit Phuket and do some diving by next week. I plan to do 2 days (3dives/day) by Saturday/Sunday. Any recommendation for accomodation and dive operator. What I want is near the beach area. thanks for the help

The current conditions aere excellent. As usual excellent visibility at Racha Yai and Racha Noi, and variable visibility at Bida Islands and Shark Point area. last week we experienced a day with 40 meters visibility at King Cruiser, really exceptional.

Visibility is always excellent at Racha Yai and Racha Noi, and is really unpredictable at Bida Islands and Shark Point area.

Last few days have not been nice, strong wind, wrong direction. Should return to normal again on Wednesday.

The conditions right now are - very bad - to say the least. But with storms and lots of rain we have to live in the tropics from time to time. The good news are - the sun is coming - the high season is not finished yet. In about 3 days we should hare the good weather and hence the good diving conditions back. So my predictions is - by the time you arrive here - the sky is blue and the sun is shining - and you will be able to enjoy your diving

It is Wednesday now, and as expected conditions have improved tremendously today.
Starting tomorrow divetrips will go out as usual again.

Can anyone please provide an update on the weather conditions and dive viz at Phuket and Simlans. Are the dive schedules back to normal. I am planning a Simlans liveaboard around 20 April. Should I be worried?

No, no reason at all to be worried.

The dive schedules are already back to normal since one week, vis etc. is back to what it is supposed to be.
