Are you referring to the month of August? Sunday is the 28th. Anyways, I assume you meant that you don't want to spend $70 per night, right? I have three suggestions:
1) Golden House VIP House on Chitlom. Shopping all around plus a good massage place beside it.
2) Kingston Suites on Sukhumvit
3) Paradiso Boutique Hotel, also on Sukhumvit

All three are close to the skytrain.

You can take the BTS to many shopping venues.

You are not far from "Nana". There will be plenty of massage offers around there.

Curt is right. No slim pickings for what you're looking for in Nana. MBK Shopping is convenient via the Skytrain.

You keep on asking this question about 'good' massages and no-one is answering. Maybe time to stop asking ...

Just use a meter taxi at the airport, but make sure they turn on the meter. There is another recent thread on this subject.

http://forum.asiawebdirect.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/83536/Taxi_Fee#Post83536

I usually pay 350 - 400 baht from BKK airport to central area of Sukhumvit.

Sivalai Place

Awesome hotel, you will get a five star hotel experience at a much cheaper cost. 999 BHT per night.

friendly staff 24/7, free wifi, internet cafe, restauarnt, swimming pool, tennis courts, neat and clean rooms with refrigerator, oven and kitchen in it.

better security system.

It is located at one hour drive from bkk international airport, and you will pay 500 BHT in total if you pick up a registered taxi from airport.

Grand palace, chatu chak weekened market, khao san road not located far away from there.

Enjoy your stay! have fun!

ONE TIP: NEVER SETTLE FOR FIRST PRICE IF YOU ARE SHOPPING at CHA CHU CHAK MARKET OR BUYNG FOOD FROM HAWKERS. ALWAYS USE A METER TAXI.

if you are into heavy shopping at Pratunam area and want real good massage with the price of max USD70.00.
Based on the above, I suggest that you look at the following :
1) Best Western Mayfair at Petchburi Soi 13 - good 3* start hotel. They have a tuk tuk which bring you within 500 meters around the hotel.
2) White Palace at Petchburi Soi 15 - centrally located in the heart of shooping area.
3) Centerpoint Petchburi - spacious and clean located at Petchburi Soi 15. The price may be a little bit more than your budget

For a real good massage, go to Reborn Massage and Spa locate at Petchburi Soi 15. You can identified them by a hand logo and its purple color background on their menu board. They are among the best amidst the many massage shops in Pratunam / Petchburi.
The owner is from Singapore and imposed a strict rules that all the therapist must be well trained from Wat Pho and have at least 2 years working experience.

Lastly on your question for the transport to city, it cost you about 350.00 to 400.00 based on meter. Pls check that the meter is on and insist that it is turn on the minute that you board the taxi.
