Hi Everyone
Just got back from our 6th trip to Thailand via KL and Langkawi. This trip We flew Malaysian Airlines for the first and last time (3 rough landings and a missed connection)
We stayed at Gracelands for the first time (we’ve previously stayed at Merlin beach and The Seaview )had a poolview room on the northern side and the only view We had was of some green shadecloth and the noise from the new Graceland ext. next door so We asked for another room and within an hour We were on the other side on the 3rd floor problem solved .Everything else about the place is great staff ,breakfast,location etc .
They even surprised me with a birthday cake (much appreciated)
The only trip We did was with Phuket sail tours had a great day sailing on Phang Nga bay
Loved kicking back on our private beach and the food is fantastic including another birthday cake.Thanks Mark.and crew
The rest of our trip was spent relaxing eating and drinking and getting massaged so much I almost got sick of it (NOT).We ate at lots of new places this year plus a lot of our favourites (SandG Sabai Sabai Orchids Eurothai Sweets) and some new ones for us Wai (had the best Tom kha goong I’ve had and I’ve had a lot) also the footpath restaurant near Gracelands and Sameros icecream .Had a top night at Nicky’s Handlebar for My birthday thanks to Nicky,Kai, Kevin the best hosts in Patong and Cathy and Gary .(next time you’re there try the fried beef) We couldn’t believe how much Bangla rd has changed in such a short time. We spent our last week in Kata beach at Phuket Kata resort got a pool access room for 1100 baht a night a real bargain We had the pool to Ourselves most of time .
.Already thinking about next year and if We can stay longer.
Most importantly a BIG Thankyou to Cathy and Alex and everyone who contributes to the Forum because it really does help to have the extra info when you’re planning your holiday.

Hey Red, was fantastic catching up with you both again, make sure you do stay longer next year lol. We have stayed in Kata a fair bit this trip as well & really enjoyed it.

Great report, I leave in just 7 more sleeps , so excited. I am also there for my birthday!!!! Cant think of a better place to spend it!
We have a private charter booked with Mark for the 25th with 10 "loonie Aussies" as a certain captain so beautifully put it lol. Cathy Gary Petertravels and friends its going to be a great day.
Will make sure I try the Fried Beef at Nickys!!!
Happy planning for the next trip, I am already thinking about mine and I have not even been yet lol
