Hi Pebbles

All I can add is that the airline is changing its model from a full service airline to a low cost one as of the 15th of Novemeber so the way they have run and the way they will is yet to been seen. The only experience that I have had is through friends that were on the flight leaving phuket to Melbourne in June that was stranded as a result of the volcano eruptions. Our friends were pretty much marooned in Malaysia for two days. Although the volcano eruptions were out of the airlines control apparently the handeling of those passangers from the flight was a little poor. Other than that I havent heard of any other problems with the airline.

As they are changing now to a low cost model I suppose anything could happen like with all the lowcost carriers there are cancellations etc but you will just have to wait and see be positive about the trip and then let us all know how you go.

Darrin.

Hi All,

Well I have returned after a lovely holiday in Phuket. My 5th visit after a 3 year absence. Well the flight with strategic/air australia left on time but apparently my " all inclusive ticket" did not include the blanket($5). It didn't worry me as my sons (Ages 2 and 3) had their own.

The airline itself was good but I personally would not fly them again. They no longer provide children's meals and are going for a target audience and as a business that is their choice.

The direct flight is good as I don't think any other airline flies direct to Phuket from Melbourne. But services are limited to a couple of days a week.

Staff were helpful and friendly.

I have to say though the Holiday Inn was fantastic... will definately be staying there again.

Our friends were pretty such stranded in Malaysia for two days. Though the scissure eruptions were out of the airlines hold ostensibly the handeling of those passangers from the adorn was a immature impoverished. Remaining than that I havent heard of any opposite problems with the airline.

Hi,

I hope that everything works out for the travellers stranded in Phuket due to Air Australia going into administration. I'm heading back to Phuket in july and they were $400 more than Thai. It's sad to see traveller stranded and the company offering no assistance but it also not good to see a company go this way. I also feel sorry for the staff who also no longer have jobs.

Hope everyone finds flights home and won't be out of pocket for bad company administration.

Pebbles.

If you dig in deep to Australian Airlines management accounts it would appear that this was just an asset stripping operation from Strategic airlines.
