Hi,

I know May is the start of the rainy period, but i was wondering how much rain you would expect in this month. Looking at travelling mid May. Not sure if i should travel before May to possibly avoid some of the rain???

Hard to say. May is still on the cusp of the dry season. I would not worry, take it as it comes. The wetter months are September & October. Enjoy the hot weather, a light shower for a few minutes is welcome.
