From Ireland, booked our flights for Sep 21st, flying to Bangkok and we really want to see Chaing Mai, however we do want to come back to Koh Samui, we have only booked our flight to Thailand and no internal flights, are the internal flights expensive? Whats the weather like in Sep? Thanks a bunch!

It has been a couple of years since we went to Chiang Mai, but by memory it costs aboutTHB5000/LB75 (return from BKK), so I guess when converted it is a bargain. In CM, make sure you do a jungle trek. It is hard work, but a lot of fun seeing how some of the villiagers live (no power/electricity/running water). We did a trek which involved a 2 day trekking, elephant riding, river rafting and spending the night in a village called Lahu with a local tribe. Exhausting, but worth it.

Can be raining in September, but it is so warm anyway, that it won't really interfere in your activities. Most of the time, the rain doesn't last for long.
