Hi, We went to Langkawi this year[march],we really had a great time.It really depends what sort of things you like.Langkawi has some great beaches, which are very deserted and quiet. You will need to hire a car if you want to get around the island, the best beaches are up north. There is alot of rain forest to hike in,we walked down from the top station of the cable car to the seven wells water falls. The cable car is fantastic, there is a brilliant national park nearby where you can snorkle and swim with baby sharks!!.There are shops in the main resorts, not that many, and not alot of night life.We stayed at the Berjaya which has a lovely beach, and lot's of wildlife around[monkeys]. sue

Hi,
Pulau Langkawi is a very nice island with mixture of down memory lane and moden duty free shopping.
From very nice tropical rain forest to beautiful and friendly people.
I was there last month and would come back this March to also watch the Malaysian Formula 1 race down in Kuala Lumpur. This time I would be staying in Langkawi for 4 nights and spend the week end (2nights) in Kuala Lumpur.
Try log on to a locally based website (which I made my reservation from)for current information and to check hotel availability.
Bye.

I was thinking of staying at the berjaya in may, and was wondering what the food and drink prices were like as I cannot take that much spending money. Are the activities you've mentioned in your message expensive? Also are all the chalets there air-conditioned?

Hi Did any body use Air Asia. Website looks great. Prices are fantastic but how are they rated. I hope that it doesn't happen that I book my ticket and when I arrive to Thailand learn that they have closed down or dont operate on the given day because of not enough passengers
Any advice Adrian

At Langkawi, I love the beach in Langkawi becouse it very beautiful.
"Best beaches Datai Bay on Pulau Beach, Langkawi"
If too much relaxation makes you restless, there are sports and recreational activities available around the Datai resorts & hotels. In addition to snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, fishing and an array of other water activities, a well-reputed golf course is on hand for you to unleash your inner Tiger Woods. Datai Bay Golf Course, located next to The Datai resort & hotel, is an 18-hole artistic creation of manmade landscaping that draws on the rainforest's natural beauty.

Hello, i take a fly by air asia from Lankawi to Kuala Lumpur in december 05. One week before the flighdate i got an email that the flight time is one hour later. And at the Airport i adept that the plane delay one hour. So i missed the conection from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore (with air asia too).
I don't got the money back, because the period between this two flights wasn't more than tree hours.
Fortunately they don't check the baggages through, and i took another plane to Singapore.
Thats my experience with air asia.
