Shopping for copy designer clothes is best in Patong. For the real thing a trip to Robinsons in Phuket Town is best, but Patong has some smaller department stores with some decent clothes. Cheap clothes can be found at Lotus/Tescos near Phuket Town.

It's hard to say which is the 'best' seafood restaurant, but a really good one is Parlai Seafood in Chalong (seldom visited by tourists, but packed every night with Thais), but it's quite far away from Le Meridien, and Patong has its fair share of good restaurants.
