Krabi to Koh Phangan

I'll be in Krabi later this month. For the second week I have booked a room all the way over on the Gulf Coast on Koh PG. I was wondering if anybody knows if the journey is possible in one day?

It takes about two and a half hours to get from Krabi to Surat Thani. If you time it to catch a boat from Surat Thani to Koh Phangan, you could do the trip easily in a half day.
