Hi ,hoping anyone can advise about decent accomodation in KL.Wil be there for a few days at end of June.I believe chinatown to be the best place to stay for ease of travelling and reasonable prices for food/drink. looking at swiss inn or hotel malaya.Anyone stayed at either of these places.Any thoughts please.

Hi Lester,
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur!
I may be able to suggest few options for you but before that, could you tell me what's your budget and your expectation about the hotel please? If you would like to stay somewhere nearby the nightspots, then Chinatown may not be a good option. Eating wise - you may consider it is cheap if you convert your GBP (I guess you are from England?) to our Ringgit. For local, we think otherwise. The weather in KL is kind of unpredictable at current - so if you plan to stay in Chinatown area, you might be having transportation problem - traffic is kind of heavy during weekdays and peak hours. You can walk around if you don't mind with the heat or heavy shower in the evening..
Any info needed, please ask.
Jade

Chinatown Hotels.
I wont stay at Chinatown.
It's good to visit during the day or night , but staying there...not a good idea. Traffic at that area is really mad.
Stay in Bukit Bintang. It's only a short cab ride away.
Just dont get cheated and demand the cab to use the meter.
