Anyone stayed in Centre Point Petchburi Hotel? How's the location and is sky train easily accessable? Is Asia Hotel a better choice? Thanks in advance.

Both are in different categories. Centrepoint is a serviced apartment, while the other one is a traditional hotel. The former offers more space but is a longer walk to the skytrain station, around 10 mins or so, while the latter is connected to one. In terms of comfort and added privacy, Centrepoint Petchburi is ahead. But Asia Hotel (which services a good number of large tour groups) makes up for it by being more conveniently-located, just don't pick their cheapest (window-less) cabin rooms and you'll be fine.

Thanks dragonman
I'm kind of excited about the shopping activities around Pratudam area but then traffic jam could be an issue if we travel around in cab, since the skytrain is not too nearby. But right now, Centerpoint is having a special rate equavelent to Asia Hotel. So should I just go for Centerpoint?

Centrepoint Petchburi would be a good choice for its proximity to Pratunam shopping wherein which you won't need a cab anymore. Now, if you want to use the skytrain, doing some amount of legwork won't hurt, unless you plan to return to the hotel with heaps of shopping bags in both hands. The distance is not that bad really, as compared to the hotels right in the middle of Pratunam Market.

I'm so relief. Thank you so much. Your opinion is very reliable and held high regards to many of us. My last trip (also 1st trip to Bangkok where I stayed in Novetel Siam Sq was also recommended by u). I thought of spending less on accomdation this time.

I am just back from 3 weeks at Centrepoint Petchburi - my detailed review is here http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserRevie...15-Bangkok.html
Really great apartment hotel. Very secure. Boom gates keep the touts out. I personally prefer taxis to trains etc so I didnt go for a walk to see how far away the train station is exactly but another person in the hotel said they were surprised that it wasnt actually as big a walk as the maps made out.

Thanks for sharing K. I'm really excited about our stay there now. We'll be travelling to Bangkok on Jan 08 and will come back with a report. Cheers

Cino I just remembered something little that I didnt include in my tripadvisor review. Because its a serviced apartment you dont get the usual hotel supply of tea/coffee/sugar.
You can either take some supplies of your own or get them at the little C Mart store which has an entrance via your room keycard in the foyer of the hotel. There is also a 7/11 a few doors down.
