I'd like to do a day trip to Coral Island. I'd like to spend as much time as possible on the beach (preferrably not just a few hours) - can anybody recommend which tour to take ?

If Coral Island is close enough try taking a Longtail Boat. that way you can just go as you please instead of having to follow the tour and coming and going as they want.

One day trip at Coral Island is different from the other one day trip tour. The speedboat will leave the pier about 9:30 a.m. and it take about 25 minutes to reach the island. Then the tour guide just inform you about information on the island for a few minutes, give you the snorkelling gear and leave you alone. At lunch time you just walk to the restaurant and enjoy the buffet lunch(include in the package). Then in the afternoon the speedboat will come back to the mainland around 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. depends on the water.

Though Coral Island might not as beautiful as the other famous islands in Thailand but it quite relax, peaceful and not very far from the mainland.

If you have a change to go, do not forget to bring some bread with you as there are lots of fishes there.
