Hi guys,
Need help and advice. I'm planning to go Krabi on this coming Saturday. I plan to use gound transportation from Hatyai to Krabi but not sure how long it will take me to travel by bus and can you guys give any ideas on cheap accomondation around Krabi? Appreciate if some of you guys can reply A.S.A.P.

In Krabi town you can find lots of budget places. Just go down the main road.
Going to the beach side at Ao Nang I think a good, nice and quit cheap accomodation is the "Full Moon House", a little place on a beautiful ground with a hand full of bungalows (palm made and very cheap or stone made with littel terrace and cheap). I've often be there and I liked it.
Comming from Krabi town you find that place just in a corner of the street.
Have a good time at Krabi area

Thanks for the replied. I found a place call Krabi Forest Home resort at the Noppharathara Beach. Have you heard that place before? How much do you think it will cost to rent a boat for island hopping purpose and is Hong island and Phi Phi island is the same island?

Hi, I do not know that Forest Home resort. The accomodations at Noppharathara Beach are all quite new and I don't know them (I know the beach and some wonderful seafood restaurants at the end of the road there, but not the resorts).
Ko Hong and Ko Phi Phi are not the same islands.
For a boat I don't know the price, I did an island boat tour some years ago, but do not remember the price. Anyway the price is never fix, you have to talk about it. Nice boat trips you ca find from Phang Nga an I think from Noppharathara too. The express boat to Phi Phi island you'll find at the pier of Noppharathara.
Have a good time and explore that beautiful area.

what kind of prices or in those places please?
Do you book a long time before and how long you stay normally in same place?

Hi Daniel,
you find places for nearly any price. At Ao Nang beach you can find places from THB 1000 on, and good Hotels / Resorts for THB 2000-3000. In Krabi Town you can find Guestrooms from THB 250 on.
It depends on the season, if you should book early or not. As I do stay just in 1 place in this area and go around by car, I always know my dates to stay, and I can book the accomodation just after I have fixed my flights. I think in peak season you should book early to have the choise.

I see that it's too late to be of any assistance to Duke, but for anyone else checking this thread, the Krabi Sands is a great little, basic hotel. It is clean, has a pool, restaurant and bar across the road and Josh, the manager is excellent. Very helpful.
For either car rental, taxis, vans or tours, you can contact either Khun Sam on 089 7334577 or Mr Aun on 087 3972678. I have personally dealt with Sam twice before and he is great, with good english. My friends have used Mr Aun and recommended him to me.

Guys,
Thanks for all the advise. I did have a great time during my stay in Krabi. Plan to go to Phi Phi island soon. So if any one out there have good advice, please post it.
