Bangkok City Suite is a good budget pick. Rooms are clean and decent. Location, though, is not the most convenient - it being quite a hike to the nearest skytrain station. If you don't mind the long walk, then go for it.

I had a friend who stayed in that hotel during last year.
But defenitely a headache duting the rush hour 6-8h30 pm as the road there are terribly jammed.
Alternatively, the Fours Sons hotels near ko san road as some decent rooms for around 550 bht ( though no windows for some )
or other places in that area like the Viengthai hotel near the historical area.

I am on my second stay at the Tai Pan Hotel. I don't know how it fits your budget, but it is close to the MRT and BTS station at Asoke and Sukumvit intersection. The staff is all smiles and it is clean.

Considering they are within close proximity, which one would you prefer? Bangkok City Suite or Samran Place?
Within the same price range as well.

Samran Place is more conveniently-located, so that would be my choice between the two.
