HI,
We are family of 5, with 3 children and the younger is 17, so we are not travel with young kids - but they still might complains:), it is our first time to travel into Singapore to Malaysia then Phuket,we have very little time, we will be landed in Singapore late 6/24 Tue, tour Singapore one day on 6/25 and then plan to take a bus ride into Malaysia early morning of 6/26 Thu, we plan to be in Kuala Lumpur around 4 to 5 PM, my question is there a bus that I can take to stop and take a quick look of Malacca, have lunch there and head to KL. I did see there is a bus from Singapore to Malacca, I have to get off the bus and take a taxi around town and have lunch and take another bus to KL.
My friend did say that is too much even with older childern, should I just skip this Malacca and take a express bus to stright to KL. Is it worth to just stop by Malacca to have lunch and a quick drive by ( in the mean time I would have 5 Luggages with me all the time ???)
Thanks in advance.

You can do Malacca, just dont go to too many places. Singapore to Malacca is about 2hrs++, then from there to KL is about 1 1/2hrs.
With 5 luggages, you will need a big taxi, i dont know if it's worth it or not, i will probably skip Malacca. 1/2 day isnt enough time, too much to see there. An overnight trip would be best.
If you do skip Malacca, take Aeroline fr Singapore to KL, it's a very modern equiped bus. https://www.aeroline.com.sg/
Cheers.

Hi Nautilus,
Thanks for your information, originally my plan A was to arrive Singapore on 6/24 Tue's night, tour Singapore half day on 6/25 and then take a bus ride to Malacca and stay overnight there, tour Malacca on 6/26 Thru morning and take the bus to Kuala Lumpur around 2 PM. That plan got throw out as it seem too much rushing, and it would be more choices of foods and shopping there ( glamour food for the boys and shopping for my teen daughter), but I my self enjoy the culture and small town. It is very hard to accommodate everyone so plan B is to stay longer in Singapore. As much as I would like to check out Malacca, I am more concern about our luggage as there are times that we step out of the taxi to go eat or sightseeing. Is there a bus that will go from Sin to KL but will also drive through Malacca?? If no , as we will be staying in KL from late after 6/26 Thu to 6/28 Sat afternoon to head to Phuket, hopefully I can see most of the Malaysia culture in KL
Thanks.

happytraveler , i dont think Express busses will drive though Melacca, cause then the bus will have to exit the highway.
Shopping in Singapore is good. Lots of good deals. FOod is good also. Nightlife is amazing!!
Wow, your trip seems pretty rush. I guess you must be spending more time in Phuket then?
See more of KL, Malacca can wait or do it during your next trip.

Another option is to do Malacca from KL.
You can leave your bags with the hotel, safer that way.
The 1st bus leaving KL to Malacca is 8:00am, the last one that departs Malacca is 8.00pm.
Journey takes about 2hrs tops.
You can do a day trip, some sight seeing, lunch and quick dinner then back to KL.
What time is your flight to Phuket from KL?
Petronas Twin Towers Opening times: Tuesday - Sunday (Monday closed), 10am - 12.45pm and 3pm - 4.45pm
- Tickets are issued 9.15am onwards so it’s best to be there between 8am and 9am
The night you arrive in KL, you can visit CHinatown for fake stuff and bargains, shopping complexes close 10pm, but i guess you would have done your bulk of shopping in Singapore. More choices in Singapore compared to Msia, they get the latest fashion faster than KL.

Nautilus,
Your fashion tips is going to be great help for my daughter, the plane leave KL to Phuket around 12:45 pm, what time should I leave for the airport ? I don't think I could do much that morning than go eat a good Maylaysia lunch ?
You mentioned about the twin tower, is it going to be long line to go up, I did not know they are closed this early at 4.45 pm ??
I was hoping to visit this on the afternoon that I arrive KL since I am skipping Malacca, if I take the bus leave around 9 am and be in KL around 2 PM, will I make the 3 to 4:45 PM slot ?, If not I guess I can go there on the morning that I leave before Phuket?
The one full day that I am in KL, I am planning to take two half day trips, morning is the half day city tour and then the Half-Day Batu Caves Tour.

I dont think you can make it for the afternoon session, you need to get the tickets early in the morning and they are limited, you can try, i dont know. The queue is going to be long.
Else you do it the next morning.
Oh you are flying Air Asia to Phuket, 1245pm flight, you have to leave KL by 10.00am or latest 10.30am. Depends on the traffic, you should get to the Low Cost Terminal, not KLIA in about 1hr.
The 1/2 day City Tour isnt much, you are better off doing the Twin Towers, then have a quick bite, go to the Batu Caves, then finish off with some thing like the Central Markets (close to Chinatown) for some arts and crafts.
Cheers.

Can you please tell me how to get to the Low Cost Terminal and what different is it to the KLIA ? And with the tours that you mentioned, should I stay close to the central markets? Or what hotels would allow fast and easy come and go. A 5 minus walks in the hot weather for my husband is going to feels like 1/2 hour..
Thanks.

Where are you staying? Which hotel?
Low Cost Terminal or LCCT is away from KLIA. Just tell the taxi driver to take you to the LCCT. No other way, unless you want to take the Air Asia shuttle bus that departs fr KL Sentral for one way MYR 9 i think. Not practical since you have so many bags.
The terminal is further than KLIA. You can check in but not go through customs 1st. Have a bite outside or just relax at McDonalds or Coffee Bean. There is only 1 Duty free shop insinde the departure hall and one mini market kinda shop and one small shop selling coffee and muffins i think.
Since you dont have much time, dont go far. Batu Caves is ok, can be done in 1/2 a day. Central markets and Chinatown are close to each other, so not to worry. Take a cab there, if the taxi wont use the meter, get another one.
It's really hot and humid in Malaysia. Wear light clothes and drink lots of water.
