Me and 4 of my friends are visiting kuala lumpur from singapore on April 26-28. I got a hard time choosing what budget hotel to stay, Bintang Warisan or Corona Inn? What do you suggest? Suggestions for other cheaper hotels are also welcome. Also, what activities are we going to do? Which is better Sunway Lagoon or Genting Highlands considering the limited period we have in KL? Thanks.

What is your budget? I prefer Genting Highlands to Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Lagoon is freaking dirty !!!!

Our budget is less than 200MYR for a twin sharing room. We have considered getting a hotel in chinatown coz its a lot cheaper but I have read in the forum that it is not advisable to stay there, so we prefer hotel in the bukit bintang area. What are best thing to do in KL? In our list are batu caves, twin towers and lake gardens for day 1 and Genting Highlands for day 2. Any other suggestions?

I assume you are not planning to stay in Genting Highlands? A day trip there is enough. You can take the bus there from Pasarakyat or from KL Sentral. The tickets are about MYR 42 per person which includes Genting All Park Theme Park Day Ride Pass or Buffet Lunch at Coffee Terrace. For MYR 200, you can stay at the The Coronade Hotel, it's next to Lot 10 Shopping Complex, very good location. I dont have any comments on the 2 hotels you mentioned earlier. http://www.kl-hotels.com/coronade/index.htm You can go to the Central Markets, Chinatown also. Check out the nightlife also, although it's nothing like Singapore.

Yeah, we are not staying at Genting Highlands coz our flight back to Philippines is at midnight of April 28 so we will be only staying there til late afternoon. Do you know what time the bus departs from Genting?

I checked Coronade Hotel and the available rooms are way above our budget. Any other hotel would you like to recommend?

Huh? I saw MYR 208++ a night. I checked the Corona Inn on the location map, looks ok to me. Erm, really dont know anything below MYR 200. Buses to genting start departing about 8am onwards. You can ask the hotel to guide you. There are cheaper ones which are not Genting Busses, normal express busses.
