Thanks Buddy. I appreciate it.
Basically, I would like to shop (probably KL), visit some islands/villages, do jungle treks, beach stuff, and other adventurous stuff.

Read same question in Kuala Lumpur forum (guess is you). If you are looking for islands/villages (Borneo- might be a good choice for you). check on sipadan island in Sabah. I heard it cost around MYR 1600 for snorkeling and hotel + food (for 5 Days).
In Penisular, besides KL. Penang, cameroon highland and Langkawi might be a good choice for you.

Hi,
Thanks for the tips to everyone who responded.
Actually I am looking for some tips on the 3-week itinerary, i.e. how many days to spend in each of these places - also can you recommend some nice hotels in these islands -something like nice cottages
thanks

For 3 weeks itinerary in Malaysia.
You can split into this (just a suggestion).
3D2N KUALA LUMPUR
2D1N MELAKA
3D2N CAMERON HIGHLAND
4D3N PENANG
3D2N LANGKAWI
You should spend about a week in Borneo to enjoy the place (borneo is huge).
The rest of the days, you can chose either Perhentian/Redang/Tioman Island at east coast of Penisular malaysia (if the weather is good)

vinci, that schedule is so hectic, going to so many places and most of the time would be spent on the bus. i would cut it short and focus on some main areas.
