Rates change daily so just keep an eyes on any of the bank exchange sites. here is a link to one

At the moment its about 28.9
Better rate always in Phuket than at home, we don't change anything here before we go do it all there. When we arrive we change just enough at Phuket airport for the Transfers to Patong then change more money in Patong when we get there. Exchanges are open till about 10pm. We just change a few $100 at a time as we need it. As we shop alot we spend a lot of time exchanging money!!!!

The airport at phk rates are usually ok, marginally less than on the streets but better than here

Hi spunkee10,
Was walking past a number of "money exchange" shops yesterday (MLB CBD) and the rate was 26.04
We exchange our spending money (like Michelle) when in Phuket.
We also change an amount of money prior to departure with "Travlex" at the airport to cover transfers etc.
Have a fantastic time
