Hey all, "been to Phuket for 2 times, last time in summer 2005, now planning next trip down there. Want to stay again at Patong beach, enjoying night life and those people, I just love it !!! Was wondering to give Amari Coral a try, never been there before, but web site and photos really look nice and location at the end oy patong beach is nice to stay. Any actual comments of this resort? Planning to stay there in May for a few weeks. Waiting for your comments. Thanks. Greetings from Hamburg, Gemrany. BJ

BJ, It is a really nice hotel. Friendly staff, and ocean views from most of the rooms. Having been to Phuket twice you will realise that it's a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Patong from the Amari, but that makes it quite peaceful relaxing on your ocean-view balcony when you get back from a frantic day in Patong. I've stayed there quite a few times - the breakfasts are great, the La Gritta restaurant (right on the water's edge) is great too, although La Gritta is not cheap. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the Amari, and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Jako

We walked through it last time we were there and thought it really nice. The only thing that put me off was the size of the pool for all the rooms. I felt it would get too crowded. Pam

Thanks also for your comments. We are booked to stay at the Amari Coral Beach from 9th June for 10 days and also thought it looked nice from the pictures etc. I also read on a forum that the breakfasts were good and the Italian restaurant was awesome. Now I am even more excited about going.... Adrian

BJ Well we are back now and have to totally recommend Amari Coral Beach Resort. The resort grounds are immaculate and the rooms are very nice. The rooms in the wing near the big pool are all getting a re paint etc at the moment and they are pretty much finished them. The Buffet brekky was awesome. Pool area was not crowded as it was low season. It is quite hilly as it is set amongst the hills but we didnt mind the stairs at all. The staff were very nice and helpful. We did have some loud neighbours at one stage but we said something and they upgraded us to the bigger room and we had a fruit platter delivered to our room. I slso did the diving through the dive centre there. The main instructor Alex is German and he is very good. The staff at the diving are mainly German and Swiss to cater for that market. We are going back next year and will definately stay there. Adrian
