Hi everyone, Me again... just wondering if anyone can recommend a good tailor. I'm probably not going to be able to buy clothes off the rack because they are mainly made for stick insects (of which I am not) not the curvy voluptuous woman (of which I am).
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated and an idea of cost would be great as well.

The last two years my husband and I have travelled to Phuket we have been to a tailor near Zen Japanese restaurant on beach road called Uomo Fashion (the tailor is just around the corner on the right hand side). It's not too far from the Patong Merlin and the gentlemen are very nice.
My husband has had suits and shirts made and I have had a jacket, skirt, pants, shirt and a chinese style dress.
We always agree on the price once we choose styles and fabric. You can barter on the price but like with everything else do it with a smile!!!! you get better results. Price wise my dress was 2800B. My husband got 2 suit jackets, 4 suit pants, 5 business shirts and 4 ties for 15000B. For the material we were happy with these prices. He wears the suits every day and they still look brand new.
Hope this helps,
Pebbles.

No, with the Chinese dress they had one on a mannequin in the window and the jackets etc I choose out of a magazine that they had there. It was kind of like a hairdresses were they have all the books and mags to choose styles from. But by all means you can take designs from here for them to make for you.
Hope this helps,
Pebbles.

Hi Denise, I have had a skirt suit made in charcoal thai silk...divine!That was quite a few years ago and it is still like new. Also I took my favourite scalloped hem long skirt and lace detailed shirt over and they copied it, The original was just cotton, but the copy was in thai silk, but a heavier quality, more like a soft silky cotton than silk. Anyway the copy was so much better than the original. Take pictures or a fave dress or pants and get several made, its worth it. Sue

Thanks Sue it's good to know the quality of the work. I had some things made in Bali and they did last very long - stitching came undone, colours faded etc... so I'm a bit wary of getting stuff made, but since you and Pebbles have given a couple of recommendations I can go with confidence.
Thanks again

Also Top Tony Tailor in the OTOP markets is wonderful. I highly recommend him. I had 2 3 piece suits and 6 shirts made in December and they have worn and washed really well.
