I'm a first time traveller to Thailand with 2 friends and was just wondering what those who have stayed at the Baiyoke Sky thought of it? Thankyou

Its rooms are fine. Breakfast buffet has a good spread. Observation deck gives you wonderful views of Bangkok. Location is a bit of a hike to the nearest skytrain station, though. Shopping-wise, you'll be very close to Pratunam.

I have stayed here a number of times and could not say a bad work about the place. The rooms are generally pretty big and well set. There are a nunber of restaurants. The pool is great on the 20th floor and the observation deck gives you some amazing views of the city. The only downer is the music at the cocktail bar. The bands are usually pretty average but entertaining.

We have stayed here and thought it was great, got upgraded to a junior suite on check in which was a bonus. Brekki was amazing, just a huge offering of all different cusines around the world. The Pratunam markets that opened in the afternoons and went into the evenings were right on your door step, literally!!

And a 5 - 10 min walk to the skyrail station.

Have fun

IMO, it's very tired. The area is busy, it's far to the nearest Skytrain station (at least 20 minutes and not an easy walk), so if you use taxis be prepared to spend a lot of time in traffic jams. The breakfast is of poor quality (low budget spread). On the upside, the views are great, it's clean and rooms are spacious. I'd much rather spend a little bit more for the new Pullman Bangkok King Power - quick and free shuttle service to a Skytrain station, and also in close proximity to the wholesale shopping in Pratunam.
