Phuket Vs Bangkok Shopping

I have been to phuket once before and i' am returning in nov 08, however i will staying 9 nights phuket and 3 nights bkk, im just wondering where is the best place to do shopping for clothes, cosmetics and shoes ect? I have heard BKk but not entirely sure. Any advice would be most appreciated. Also does anyone know if it is best to get teeth whitening in Phuket or Bkk?

In bangkok you will find much more and prices tend to be better also.
Agree with Michelle, if you see something on Phuket you really like, buy it, but otherwise: buy in Bangkok.
In bangkok there are also some excellent dental centers, but also Phuket you can have your teeth done.

Hi Jazz84,
If it's dvds you are after I personally think phuket is better. But most other things are comparable. I held off shopping in Phuket one time as I heard Bangkok was better but I found it a bit harder to barter in Bangkok, this was my experience at the patpong night market. Which I have since learned is a tourist trap anyway but I have been there now and did get some absolutely amazing painting there. In Bangkok I would highly recommend MBK. I bought many t-shirts and shoes there.
My theory is if I'm happy to pay, I'll pay.

I had absolutely no problem at Patpong. i got way better bargains there than at the MBK for some reason??

Agreed, we got good bargains on bags and a watch at Patpong, but jeans were great at MBK. We did hold off from buying handbags at Phuket but didnt see the one we wanted in BKK so should have just got it. As pebbles said DVD's half the price in Patong only 50Baht each, they were asking 100 in BKK and wouldnt barter. We saw some things cheaper in BKK than Phuket and others chepaer in Phuket than BKK so its really up to you what you want to pay. If you see something you like get it I say. To be honest the differences in price really werent that much in our $$ if you know what I mean.
