I am looking at having work pants made in Phuket and wonder if I should purchase the fabric in Melbourne or whether the quality is just as good in Phuket.
I am looking at linen pants and also pin stripe - (no idea of the fabric though).
What do you all think?
I'm off now to update on all the return travellers. Your messages and information is sensational.
Cheers

The fabrics are very good quality in Phuket. But if you get a suit made take all the pieces out into the sun and have a look at the colour. Sometimes they cut the fabric from 2 diferent bolts and they may have come from a different dye lot, although they maybe black they can be two different shades of black.
There is a fantastic fabric shop in the OTOP Market on Rat u Thit road out the back of the Patong Merlin. One of the ladies I met brought 5m of raw silk $20. So you can always go there buy the fabric in the colour and fibre of your choice and take it to the tailor.
I had 5 dresses, 7 shirts and 4 pairs of pants made for $1100 I would never get that here. Next time I go I'll go to the fabric shop first get the fabric and get the tailor to make what I want up for me.

Yes, the fabrics are good quality in Phuket, but I find the range a little limited. If you are going to Bangkok at all, get your fabrics there, so much cheaper and a huge range.
